Overview

Scroll Qur'an is designed so reading works without creating a named account. You can continue as a guest, and account-based features are used only for sync, Striving in Good, Circles, family links, and account recovery.

Data we collect

• Name or display name, used for your profile, for Striving in Good, for Circles, and for family links.
• Email address, used when you sign in with email, Google, or Apple through Firebase Authentication.
• User ID, used to associate your progress, your Striving in Good entry, Circle membership, and family links with your account.
• Product interaction data, including reading progress, bookmarks, Nur totals, streaks, selected language, reciter, appearance preferences, downloaded-recitation state, opt-in to Striving in Good, Circle membership, and family activity you choose to share.
• Device identifier. Firebase Analytics assigns an identifier to your installation of the app. It is used only to produce aggregate usage statistics and is not linked to your account or identity.
• Crash data, used to diagnose and improve app stability.

How we use data

We use this data for app functionality: saving your reading progress, syncing across devices, showing your opted-in Striving in Good or Circle activity, linking family reading activity by invite code, sending local reminders, and maintaining app reliability. The device identifier and analytics events are used only to understand which features are used, in aggregate.

Analytics events record that something happened, not what you read. We do not record which verse, surah, page or juz you are on, and we do not record what you type into search.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use data for third-party advertising or tracking. The app contains no advertising SDKs and does not request the advertising identifier (IDFA).

Recitation audio

Recitation streams from MP3Quran.net when you play it. Your device contacts that server directly, so it will see your IP address as any web request would. We do not send your account, name, or reading position with those requests.

Social features

Display names, Nur totals, Circle names, and Circle descriptions may be visible to other users when you opt into social features. You can report users or Circles in the app, block users locally, and hide Circles locally.

Account deletion

You can delete your account from Settings. Account deletion removes the Firebase Authentication account and associated app data, including progress sync data, your Striving in Good entry, Circle memberships, and family links. For Apple-linked accounts, the app also revokes the Sign in with Apple token when required.
